Driveway Patrol instantly alerts you when someone comes up your driveway or porch. No startling knocks at the door, no unexpected horn beeps. Waiting for a delivery? Waiting for your daughter to get home from a date? Want to extend your home security system? Here's your answer…Driveway Patrol.

Driveway Patrol is an infrared sensor that alerts you when someone crosses its path. When placed across the driveway or on your porch, a pleasant chime will sound alerting you that someone has come onto your property. Driveway Patrol's amazing wireless technology provides easy mobility: Simply place the sensor by the front door, garage, mailbox, or anywhere else near your home and the unit will send a signal to it's receiver (up to 400 feet away*)! With Driveway Patrols motion activation, you will always know when someone is coming up to your house before they ring the doorbell!

The device is wireless and has a 400-foot range(Open Area Only). The sensor is housed in weather-resistant plastic, installs with a screw on any surface, such as a mailbox post, garage, or door, and measures 4-1/4 inches high, 2-5/8 inches wide, and 2-1/4 inches deep.

The portable receiver has an identical housing, can be set to chime high or low (or turned off), and measures 5 inches high, 3-5/8 inches wide, and 1-1/2 inches deep. Dimensions are approximate. • Transmission Range: 434 MHz
  • PIR(Passive Infra-red Sensor) Range: 20 X 30 Feet
  • Receiver: 3 X 1.5V "C-Size" battery, not included

B) In some applications the motion detector may be too sensitive, resulting in false alerts. To remedy this situation, put masking tape or labels on each side of the sensor window. Keep the band as narrow as 1/8" wide or wider depending on individual situation. Some trial and error may be required to find the optimal width.

this as seen on tv item actually works great

Works great and has incredible range. I live on a mountain, deep in the woods. I cannot see the beginning of my driveway from the house, but the sensor works from way down there. It does pick up the occasional wildlife that ventures by, but I'd rather have a false alarm than an unexpected "visitor.

Driveway Patrol Infrared Wireless Home Security Alarm
Roger Graham (Sunshine State | Florida) 6/16/2010 9:21 PM
The Driveway Patrol works great. In the past I have not been able to hear vehicles outside my house and was startled each time someone knocked on my door. I am now alerted each time someone is in my driveway. The only downfall is that birds and squirrels can set the alarm off. My sensor is approx. 300 feet from where I keep the bell and it has not failed.

I bought this unit because some Crack-Heads live down the street,I'm just waiting for the night they try to break in, so I'm waking up to every little bump at night. I bought two units and when one sensor is tripped both receivers alarm!! So I can put one receiver in my living room and one receiver in the bedroom and be at peace anywhere in my home! On a side note... Extremely fast shipping by asseenontvguys.com, I mean WOW!! I can sleep in peace tonight! Thank You.

I have two of these low-cost alarms set up, and both become quite intermittent when the temperature reaches 90 degrees and above (in the shade): Sometimes they go off when a person/car goes past, and sometimes they do not. As soon as the temperature decreases though, they become much more reliable. I WOULD NOT RECOMENDED THESE DEVICES FOR SECTIONS OF THE COUNTRY WITH HOT WEATHER, SUCH AS ARIZONA, TEXAS, NEW MEXICO, ETC. Original review: I am very impressed with this alarm: It is accurately able to detect people coming up the stairs of my apartment, and sets off the indoor alarm -- and it has not sent out any false alarms (Most problems with this alarm (that I have read in the reviews below) appear to be caused by the sensor being in direct sun light. This seems to cause these units numerous difficulties, and should have been addressed in the Patrol Sensor's enclosed instructions -- but isn't. However, by simply shielding the outdoor sensor from all *direct* contact with the light of the sun by using tape or opaque plastic, or repositioning the outdoor sensor, appears to eliminate false alarms or no alarms). This alarm unit appears to be quite well made, and the price is, of course, incredibly low. Great buy!!

Yes, I have received my recent order. As a matter a fact; my neighbor has already installed it. It took a little time to get it set up, but it has been working ever since. My neighbor came back over, after I thought he left he went in the back where the device is, and broke the beam. I was right there and saw him. He thought I would not hear the loud beep. I did. He told me it was just a test and it worked. Thank you for such a nice device and in-expensive for almost anyone who is having a problem with intruders on their property. Thank you!!! BJK
